FLEX Changsha Smart Manufacturing Industrial Park settled

Flex International Ltd (hereinafter referred to as Flex), an electronic manufacturing service provider based in America and a member of the Fortune Global 500 list, settled in Changsha. A 5-billion investment agreement for Flex Changsha Smart Manufacturing Industrial Park was signed between Changsha Municipal People’s Government and Flex on January 29. Hu Henghua, member of the Standing Committee of Hunan Provincial Committee of CPC and Party Secretary of Changsha Municipal Committee of CPC, and Mike McNamara, CEO of Flex, gave speeches on the signing ceremony. Chen Wenhao, Vice Governor of Hunan, Deputy Party Secretary of Changsha Municipal Committee of CPC and Mayor of Changsha, attended the ceremony.

Flex is a global leading solution provider from concept forming to mass production, which is committed to the design and manufacturing of smart products for the interconnected world. The park, a production base of smart phone terminal and smart electronic products, is sited in the Wangcheng Economic Development Area, covering an area of 620mu (about 413,333㎡). It is expected to yield an annual value of production of 10 billion RMB and generate the tax revenue of 150 million RMB annually after reaching target output. The park will develop in o a new name card for Changsha’s smart manufacturing sector via driving the development of upstream and downstream supporting enterprises in the sector, expediting talent inflow and stimulating Wangcheng’s economic development.

In his address to the ceremony, Hu Henghua said Changsha, boasting favorable traffic and high-quality education of science, has developed in o an advanced manufacturing and independent innovation base in China. In its efforts to build itself in o a powerful city in manufacturing and center of national smart manufacturing, Changsha is currently giving great impetus to the development of its real economy with the smart manufacturing serving as the bellwether through the intellectualized transformation of traditional sectors and the intellectualized cultivation of emerging sectors.
